Climate Change
Life has survived through 4 ice ages which entailed changes in climate and sea level far more severe than anything than even Al Gore has predicted. Divers have explored caves that were one occupied by humans, and they are now 100 meters below the surface of the Med. Regardless of what we do about CO2, it is highly unlikely that the earth will not continue to experience violent fluctuations in temperatures and sea level. If this happens, existing ports will be abandoned and new ones built on higher ground. Nothing to get hysterical about. However, in the short term, climate change is big business--estimated to be worth $1.5 trillion annually, or about the same amount as e-commerce. I suppose that is worth getting hysterical about, especially if you're a climate scientist or eco-capitalist.
